ITINERARY
5 days of climbing activities, 4 hours per day minimum, accompanied by a local guide in English or Spanish. The group should inform the guide beforehand about its climbing level and resistance so the guide can adapt and plan out the day. The group may try out different routes or focus on improving technique; the guide will tailor the experience to the group’s preferences.
The afternoons are left open for short trips around the island or for a swim in the sea. There will be a rental car available for your use, included in the fee.
The fourth day is also left open for a day trip to explore Gran Canaria’s landscape, for a good day rest in the comfortable lodge or to continue climbing if you are addicted to the sport.
The program can be tailored to your needs. If you prefer to focus on sport, traditional, boulder or any other adventure sport (bridge swing jumping, canyoning, kayak, etc) or any other combination, please contact us and we will personalize your trip. You can also count on renting whatever climbing equipment you need for your free time.
It is also possible, by written request, to extend or shorten the guide’s services. We can also adjust the program to a beginner’s level for those with no experience in climbing.
Day 1: Welcome Reception (Climbing Support Service)
We will pick up the travelers at the airport. There we will hand over the rental car and guide the travelers to the lodge in Artenara.
After a welcome reception to discuss on the week’s plan, we will review the mountaineering level of the group and plan each day’s schedule.
We will recommend some paths near the village for an evening walk.
Day 2: Sport climbing in Tamadaba
Located in Gran Canaria’s northeast, Tamadaba extends more than 8000 hectares. This pine grove is one of the richest biological and landscape enclaves in the island. In this impressive location surrounded by rocks and pines, live numerous species of flora and fauna, many of which are exclusively endemic. Tamadaba is an ideal location to enjoy nature.
Our guide will pick up the group around 9:00 a.m. and no more than 20 minutes later the group will already be climbing in this marvelous location.
After a day spent climbing, the group will head back to the lodge in Artenara to relax, enjoying marvelous views and resting for the next day.
There are a number of restaurants close by where you will be able to eat local cuisine.
Day 3: Sport climbing in Tamadaba/ Roque Nublo
For this day we offer two possibilities:
The first option is to go back to Tamadaba to overcome pending challenges or explore additional climbing sectors. Tamadaba has many sectors and routes, some of which require the help of a guide to reach.
The other option is to go climb the Roque Nublo. This boulder is one of the biggest in the world and has impressive views. It is the emblem of our island and is a unique attraction, especially for those who practice traditional and aid climbing.
Day 4: Rest day
We will recommend cultural outings depending on the group’s preferences.
We offer you the chance to try out an additional activity such as bungee jumping, kayak, canyoning, etc. (not included in the price).
Those addicted to climbing can check out the Indoorwall Gran Canaria climbing center, the most complete climbing wall in the Canary Islands, with a discount on the fee.
Day 5: Sport Climbing in Fataga
On the fifth day, after breakfast, the group will move from Artenara to a rural lodge in Fataga (in the south-center of the island.) From there our guide will take you to the sport-climbing zone in Fataga, near the dam, where you will spend the afternoon climbing. The crag in Fataga is one of the most popular with the local climbers. It has short but explosive routes, and its volcanic rock is one of the most special in the island.
Once the day is over, the group will go back to the lodge where they can prepare a barbecue, go for a swim in the pool or take a walk around the charming village.
Day 6: Boulder in Mogán
Gran Canaria is more and more known in the climbing world for its boulders. Its numerous ravines are full of volcanic bombs, perfect for Bouldering. Mogán is the most popular location among them all; so don’t leave the island without checking it out.
Our guide will be waiting for you at 9:00 a.m. in the town center and will take you to the different sectors.
With our crash pads, we will spend the day climbing the boulders located in this ravine.
Once back in Fataga there are various restaurants where you can try out local cuisine at a reasonable price.
Day 7: Sport Climbing in Sorrueda
For your last day of climbs, our guide will be waiting for you in Sorrueda, where you will climb one of the most beautiful ravines in the area. Its red rock and natural beauty make Sorrueda a dreamlike location, especially for those who like grades 6 and 7’s.
At sunset the group will head back to the house in Fataga to relax and get ready for the trip the next day.
Day 8: Leaving Gran Canaria
