Climbo Celebrates the Success of the 12th Edition of the “Gran Canaria Walking Festival”

This year, the magic was once again felt on the trails of Gran Canaria during the 12th edition of the “Gran Canaria Walking Festival”, an annual event that brings together hiking enthusiasts from around the globe to enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of the island’s landscapes. Climbo, part of the executive board of the Rural Tourism Association “Gran Canaria Natural and Active“, has once again collaborated in this iconic event, contributing to the development and execution of the festival’s routes, and ensuring memorable experiences for all participants.

Despite the constant rain that characterized this edition, participants ventured onto the routes with enthusiasm, seizing the unique opportunity to absorb the intoxicating smells of vegetation and wet soil, aspects that enriched the festival experience. This scenario, far from overshadowing the day, enhanced the vibrant colour palette of the island, offering hikers a complete sensory experience.

The Climbo Team played a crucial role in the success of this edition, providing five experienced guides, among whom there were Official Tourism Guides and Mountain Guides, including a professional with a dual qualification. Committed to an inclusive and global experience, our guides are proficient in several languages, including Spanish, English, German, Italian, and Portuguese, ensuring smooth communication and cultural understanding with participants.

This year, the festival enjoyed diverse participation, with attendees from various countries, reflecting the international reach of the event. The routes attracted many national participants, but we also had strong participation from visitors from Sweden, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, and Japan, among others. Each route offered hikers different perspectives and challenges, tailored to their interests and abilities, as reflected in the high participation across all of them.

We thank all participants, collaborators, and organizers, and eagerly look forward to the next edition, where we will continue exploring, discovering, and enjoying together the wonders of hiking in Gran Canaria.
